1121 Sella Rice is one of Pakistan’s most popular and widely exported Basmati varieties. The term “Sella” refers to the parboiling process the paddy undergoes before milling — a process that partially cooks the grain inside the husk, giving it a characteristic golden colour, firmer texture, longer shelf life and enhanced nutritional value. 1121 Sella Rice is particularly popular in the Middle East, East Africa and West Africa where consumers prefer a firm, non-sticky rice that holds its shape well during cooking and serving.

The 1121 variety is renowned for its extraordinary extra-long grain — one of the longest among all Basmati varieties in the world. Upon cooking, 1121 Sella Rice elongates dramatically, producing long, separate, firm grains with a mild Basmati fragrance. This makes it ideal for large-scale cooking in hotels, restaurants, catering operations and institutional kitchens across the Gulf and Africa where biryani, kabsa and pilaf are served daily to large numbers of people.

Grown in the fertile plains of Punjab, Pakistan, 1121 Sella Basmati benefits from the region’s rich alluvial soil, clean Himalayan river water and ideal growing conditions. The paddy is harvested during the Kharif season, parboiled, dried and aged to enhance its cooking quality and shelf stability before milling at our Port Qasim facility.

Kassam Trading Company processes 1121 Sella Rice at our own mill at Port Qasim using modern color sorter machines, polishing units and packaging lines to ensure consistent quality, uniform golden colour and minimal impurities in every shipment. Our mill has a processing capacity of 9,000 MT per month, giving buyers confidence in our ability to fulfil large and consistent orders on time.

Every batch is cleaned, sorted, polished and sortexed before packing, ensuring it meets international export quality standards. Our in-house quality control team inspects every shipment before it leaves our facility, and we offer SGS or Bureau Veritas pre-shipment inspection on request.
