The variety has been commercially cultivated in Punjab, Pakistan for decades and has built a strong reputation in international markets for delivering reliable Basmati quality at competitive pricing.

D-98 Basmati is particularly popular in markets across the Middle East, East Africa and the United Kingdom where consumers have a long-established preference for Pakistani Basmati rice. The grain cooks beautifully — elongating to nearly double its raw length, remaining fluffy and separate with a mild floral fragrance that is characteristic of authentic Pakistani Basmati.
Grown in the fertile plains of Punjab during the Kharif season, D-98 Basmati benefits from the region’s rich alluvial soil, clean Himalayan river water and ideal growing conditions. The paddy is harvested, carefully dried and aged before milling to enhance its fragrance and cooking quality — following the traditional Pakistani Basmati processing methods that have made Pakistan one of the world’s premier Basmati exporting nations.

Kassam Trading Company processes D-98 Basmati Rice at our own mill at Port Qasim using modern color sorter machines, polishing units and packaging lines to ensure consistent quality, clean white appearance and minimal impurities in every shipment. Our mill has a processing capacity of 9,000 MT per month, giving buyers confidence in our ability to fulfil large and consistent orders on time.

Every batch is cleaned, sorted, polished and sortexed before packing, ensuring it meets international export quality standards. Our in-house quality control team inspects every shipment before it leaves our facility, and we offer SGS or Bureau Veritas pre-shipment inspection on request for buyers who require independent third-party verification.
