PK-386 Sella Rice is the parboiled version of the popular PK-386 variety — one of Pakistan’s most widely grown and commercially successful non-basmati rice varieties. The Sella process involves parboiling the paddy before milling, which gives the grain a distinctive golden colour, firmer texture, enhanced nutritional value and longer shelf life compared to white rice. PK-386 Sella is particularly popular in East Africa, West Africa and the Middle East where consumers prefer a firm, non-sticky rice that holds its shape well during cooking and serving.

The parboiling process drives nutrients from the bran layer into the grain, making PK-386 Sella Rice more nutritious than regular white rice. The grain cooks firm and separate, making it ideal for large-scale cooking in hotels, restaurants, institutional kitchens and catering operations. Its longer shelf life and resistance to breakage during transport also make it a preferred choice for buyers supplying remote or inland markets across Africa and the Middle East.

Grown across Punjab and Sindh provinces during the Kharif season, PK-386 Sella benefits from Pakistan’s fertile agricultural land and favourable growing conditions. The paddy is harvested, parboiled, dried and milled at our Port Qasim facility to produce a consistent, high-quality product that meets international export standards.

Kassam Trading Company processes PK-386 Sella Rice at our own mill at Port Qasim using modern color sorter machines, polishing units and packaging lines to ensure consistent quality, uniform golden colour and minimal impurities in every shipment. Our mill has a processing capacity of 9,000 MT per month, giving buyers confidence in our ability to fulfil large and consistent orders on time.

Every batch is cleaned, sorted, polished and sortexed before packing, ensuring it meets international export quality standards. Our in-house quality control team inspects every shipment before it leaves our facility, and we offer SGS or Bureau Veritas pre-shipment inspection on request.
